Benchmade Skirmish Dis-Assembly ??

I give. Whats the oxyclean darkening treatment consist of? Couldn't find anything related on a search.

You might need to apply some heat to the screws. This will break up the loc-tite and free up the screw.

This suggestion always pops up, except rarely does anyone tell you how to apply heat to the screws, use a soldering iron to heat up the screw, this should prevent damage to the scales.

Boil it like an egg. I've done this and it works very well. The oxy-clean treatment was a big success when I did it on my Rick Hinderer Firetac Extreme. It darkened the titanium and even gave it some blue coloration. I did it about a month ago and the finish has not lightened.

I like that, I'll have to try that, anyone know what tempature the bond on permanent LocTite breaks down?

I have heard the temp on the loctite from 250-325 degrees. If boiling water works, it would appear that extended exposure to 200+ degrees will break it down.
