Are these knifes TOO big for EDC. I curently run with a Spyderco Military IWB. I'm also looking at a Lone Wolf T3 or T2 tactical folder. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Skirmish is too big, and T2 is also too big.

They are both beautiful knives and I own one of each. But they are unwieldy for regular pocket knife use due to their extra large size and lack of point control, especially the skirmish.

The T2s leaner blade, straight shape, and high grind make for a utilitarian knife good for general camp use and food preparation, (and self defense actually), while the Skirmish actually works well for clearing light vegetation and such, which is what I use mine for. It is of very thick stock with a fairly low grind and obtuse edge. I'm sure it would be a formidable weapon too.

I'm loving the easy maintenance of the S30V of both knives and have used that skirmish hard, chopping wood etc, with no ill effect.

I've had my eye on a mini skirmish for quite some time, but for every day use, it's not the most practical shape although it's a beauty.

I find that 3.5 inches of blade is too much even for most stuff I need a knife for.
3 inches of blade makes for a much more compact tool which will do all the jobs a slightly larger knife would in most instances, without the added weight and lack of point control. If you have really big hands, you might need the extra handle length of a 3.5" bladed folder.

I think you're on the right track. Both those knives are awesome and you would be happy to own either I'm sure. But I think you'd find that they would stay at home once you got yourself a smaller knife. Anyway, that's the case with me.

"Sookie" made some good comments. Personally, I often carry a Harsey T-1 & absolutely love it. It's 4" closed, but it's set up so that your hand grasps the entire handle, so it's not too small (I do have large hands). The blade's over 3", S30V, & the fit & finish of the knife is excellent.

i dont have any but have handled all three at my local knife shops.

The skirmish is huge but it is relatively thin so it rides pretty well in the pocket.

The T2 is also big but it doesnt ride quite as nice becuase of the thickness of the knife handle. But its blad shape more utilitarian and IMO comes much shaper out of the box. I really like the cocobola or french walnut handls on the T2

The T3 is much to big and beastly to carry in the pocket and i think it comes with a sheath for that very reason.

All three are excellant knives however i would definately check with your local knife laws and then try to get to a dealer and handle all three (or any they might have) before you make a decision.

Agreed. I just got a T1 with rosewood scales. It's a real beauty, and it was scary sharp out of the box

Still looking around to replace my Spyderco Military. Maybe I'll just keep what I have for now after all this looking.....naw...just joking. How can I have just ONE knife! LOL.:D

I personally love a 4" blade for EDC. I've not handled a T2, but it's exactly along the lines of what I like. I don't mind a bit more handle in my pocket, so long as it's not too huge and uncomfortable. So, what I'm saying is, if these knives appeal to you, try to handle them in person and choose based on how they feel.
