Benchmade smoothness

What's your idwa of smooth, loose or not gritty?
Rolling lock is stiff to open, but smooth
Their frame locks are decent and the lockbacks are fine

I've got a Benchmade Vex and it opens very smoothly. I no longer EDC it as I've moved up to CRK Sebenzas but My only complaint would be the detent hold is a little deep making it marginally more difficult to start opening.

I've had the Ambush and the Fecas Snipe, and they were both very smooth (and both great values for the price).

I just bought my first Benchmade 7 days ago. It was a partially serrated Pika. It has been clipped to my pocket ever since, and is part of the Benchmade Red Line/ Made in Taiwan series. The edge from the factory is excellent, and the blade opening and closure is superb. The lock-up is so awsome. I would not think twice about buying another Benchmade Redline knife, in fact, I have since seen the Mini Pika, and I believe that one will appear in my collection soon enough.

I don't know if they do, but if they are half as smooth as my 2 BM's in the blue class which fall open with no blade play then they are worth it.

The only difference I ever saw was where it is made. If I paid double for a vex, and didn't care where it was made, I would be very happy. Truly some excellent bargains. I personally want "made in USA" in my pocket, but I am like that. I really like the red class for what they are.
