Benchmade Snody Activator+ BM201 info wanted

Anyone have one of these smaller Benchmade fixed blades (3.6" D2)? Is it convex or flat ground? I want a smaller than my Buck Vanguard fixed blade with a decent blade material. I have considered this - and a BRK Blackwater, they range from $90-$130, my limit. Which would be the best for general use in hiking and EDC in a pocket sheath? The BM's lowered price is alluring - as is the generally quite excellent reputation of the BRK. Thanks!

You posted this in the Traditional forum, so my guess is that most of the recommendations you'll get (including mine) will be for something "traditional." I have an IMP from Bark River, which fills those shoes quite nicely, and which I like better than any Buck or Benchmade I've ever seen. It's made of A2 tool steel, and is fully convex-ground, so it's an excellent little cutter.

Having just dipped into the production market again I am simply floored by some of the prices out there.

I just ordered the BM Activator Plus for my son for Christmas-he has gotten interested in backpacking. It just came in today and I had to take a look at it. Flat ground. I like the fact that it is D2 and the rockwell is up around 60-62. Very slim knife-not much thickness in the handle scales, but is very comfortable in the hand. Attractive-fit and finish is what you would expect for a Benchmade Blue. Very sharp out of the box. I am probably going to order one for myself. I thought it was a good deal at 79.00.
 
I've had my BMActivator+ for many moons now. Great steel, good solid grip, Snody design, ....... Also have a Northstar & a mini-northstar, those just blow my mind! All great, just diff. Find myself leaning toward my Activator+ more & more for everyday, ruff/tuff, field knife at work type stuff. IMHO you would not be disappointed with the Snody Activator Plus or damn near any BRK&T.
