Im not usually a fan of the "Tanto" styled blades especially if they are single grind but I find myself drawn to the Stryker. Anyone have one and what do you think?

Stryker's are sweet, what's not to love?

Yeah I love mine...it's an auto and it's the most used blade I have. Just gotta be careful of people seeing me use it ;) Not to mention how huge a fan I am of how solid it feels when it's open...

I've got the D2 model, and just sold a M2 version. I like the knife, putting it just below the 710 in my list of likes and dislikes. It cuts pretty well for a tanto, and is easy to sharpen. Joe

i have had a lot of strykers, M2 strykers, chisel grind strykers, prototype strykers, and even a std stryker or 2 and they are imho great knives, one of the better edc tantos if utility is high on your list of uses.

pretty darned good imho.

I've got one of the older models. The handle is very comfortable and its one of the smoothest opening folders I have. I'm not crazy about the tanto point but it does the job. It also carries well in the pocket.

It's and excellent design and not too expensive considering the high quality.

One thing to mention.... buy one from a reputable seller, there's quite a few counterfeits around.

Okay design, considering the "tanto" blade. I find "tanto" blades useful for cleaning gaskets off of parts and such tasks.

One thing to watch for is the lock, since "fat fingered" people seem to disengage the lock in certain grips.

They still make the drop point models, at least with the "nitrous" assisted system. see the BM913 series

I have the mini auto stryker and its one hell of a knife. Tough as nails and holds a hair shaving edge for weeks with fairly heavy use.

they are really quite a bit different than a CQC7 even though they replaced the 970 in the BM line back when they disco'd the 970/975.

i suppose they are both tantos lol, but the handle and blade are a lot different imho.

but they do bear a passing resemblance i guess.

I have several Strykers, both mini and regular, all plain edge. The large size used to be my EDC for several years until I moved to the 710 Axis lock. The Stryker fit my hand perfectly, was smooth opening, and held a fine edge. I'm not a fan of the tanto point, but it never got in the way...
