benchmade stryker or spyderco paramili???

I am partial to the Stryker, especially since they can still be found in M2 (and are readily available now in D2 if you prefer). My Mini-Stryker is one of my favorites, though neither knife is a bad choice.

The Paramilitary is going to be the better slicer for the most part, though the blade won't hold up as long as the Stryker (which won't be quit as sharp, although it's still sharp).

In terms of size, the Stryker fits in the pocked a little better (it's a rectangle, where as the para is more of an oval).

The Para has a stainless blade...the Stryker is offered in various levels of steel.

I'm a Benchmade fan.

So, that stated, I'm more concerned with the lock.

Some don't like the lock on the Para, others love it.

The Para will be a better cutter from the box, but the Stryker can be reprofiled - no big issue there IMO.

Also, some big handed people seem to be able to disengage the lock on the Stryker in a full fisted grip. The couple I handled, I was not able to do it, but ...

I like the stryker but i'd go with the spyderco, just like the overall package better. either way you can't lose. later, ahgar

Very different blade designs, what do you want to do with it? They are roughly the same size when closed, weigh close to the same. I have handled a mini-Stryker and contemplated buying it. I have a Para and love it. The design is very well thought out; it is made for using and feels very good in the hand. I like the compression lock on my Para better than the axis and liner locks on my Benchmades. The position and size of the hole makes the Para the easiest-opening knife that I own. Since I got the Para, other knives that were really on my wish list have slid down a notch, and I am not in a big hurry to get them.

I say get the Para.

It has a better lock and a more useful blade. Plus the G10 is better feeling.

big stryker fan here. do not like compression lock. stryker rides lower in pocket. just a stir of the pot... maybe a rat trap?

I have both, and both are very good knives. The easiest way to resolve the dilemma is to simply get both.

I like both. I think that the Spyderco isa better cutter though. The 910 looks better I think.

I love both these knives. I find myself carring the Styker more mainly due to low pocket carry. PMillie rides higher than any other clip knife I have. IMO its only flaw.

I am wicked partial to Spyderco, so I HAVE to go with the Para Millie!!! It is an EXCELLENT knife by the way!

By far, go with the Para. It's the complete package. The Stryker wouldn't even be my 5th Benchmade pick.

Spydie all the way. I love mine, very functional design and love the lock as well.

I've always liked my striker, and dislike the liner lock mech. on the back of the para-military, I find it awkward.
