Benchmade Stryker pivot screw issues, I think.

Hi all, I'm Max...long time reader, first time poster.
I have a manual BM Stryker that has been requiring a lot of pivot tightening (nearly every day) due to the blade becoming off-center when closed and quite "wiggly" to the point of the blade scraping the inside of the liner when closing. The lock is still rock solid when the blade is open but there is significant x-axis back and forth motion when held. I know continual tightening of the pivot isn't recommended but, obviously, I don't want something that feels like a tooth after getting punched in the face with a brick. Any suggestions? Should I lubricate it or something?

Most likely, the pivot is loosening. I have had this issue. I simply used loc-tite on the screw. I would get the blue type, because the red is "semi perminant" and makes it possible to strip screws.

Just take out the pivot screw, put a little bit on the threads (make sure none gets anywhere else) and tighten to exctally where you want it. Then let it sit over night (24hrs would be even better)
