Benchmade Stryker similar to MT Socom Elite?

Does anyone have both of these knives? Any pictures of the two together? I've been pretty interested in the Stryker lately, and if its anything like a socom, I may get one sooner than later. Maybe even the auto version if I can find one.

I've owned both and if you like them I would go with the auto.
Honestly, my Socoms were nicer, but the crappy liner locks would fail just by spine whacking them in my hand.

I have been looking at the spear point stryker auto, as I'm not a very big tanto fan.

My Stryker (manual, assisted version) is one of my favorite knives. It is light and trim for its blade size, but the blade shape seems to be very strong. The nitrous system seems to work pretty well.

I have not handled a Socom but I would like to try one. My impression is that the Socom is longer, I don't know about the weight. The Socom also has a flare at the end of the handle that looks like it would help your grip for stabbing. The Strykers are very hard to find these days, the Socom isn't as hard to find but is much more expensive.

I love my Socom. Never handled a Stryker but have always wanted one. My Socom Elite's liner lock is absolutely the most solid liner lock I own, tied with my Gunhammer2.

I carried the original 910 Stryker for many years and never felt under or ill equipped as far as my cutting needs and this included fairly hard use at times so I can definitely recommend the Stryker.

I can't comment as far as the Socom Elite or Auto Stryker because I never owned one but can say the Stryker is a great knife that never let me down.

Best of luck!

Great knives; I own this and the smaller 907, (as well as the older 910 and 905.) Benchmade did the design well by keeping the very slim and comfortable handle scales intact. By adding the ribbed texture it only increased the grip, which many of us were asking for; that and a drop point D2 Ares-style blade.

I'd prefer either a completely manual or automatic knife. If I were to have to get the nitrous version, can they be de-assisted?

It can be done; but with the Nitrous mechanism disabled there's nothing to hold the blade in check. The springs involved do this nicely, so I wouldn't do it.
