Benchmade Taggedout scales

I recently received a Taggedout, the OD G10 version. Blade is awesome, and the OD/orange looks great, but I'm not sure I like the scales... slightly slippery, and I don't like how the clip is angled; maybe it's just me but seems to make the corner jut out farther into my pocket.

I'm debating on swapping scales, which I do all the time on my Bugouts. But hate idea of messing with this one, especially since it looks like a lot of scales aren't compatible with the orange spacer.

Any feedback on the aftermarket scale options vs OEM G10?

A timely question, as I have been scouring the worldwideweb for exactly the same, a set of well made, orange of OD G10 replacement scales.

The only ones I could find are from a manufacturer in Oregon, called Rouge Bladeworks. The reviews on their timely delivery however is mixed, to put it politely.

The original BM green G10 scales I find quite attractive, but can't stand the sharp aluminum "lanyard loop" digging into the palm of your hand. Why would Benchmade do something like that Benchmade Benchmade ? The S45V version is one heck of a nice knife otherwise.

The short deep carry clips I removed and replaced them with a regular clip. I for one prefer the knife "to ride high".

My search continues.

Yeah I can’t stand the lanyard loop either, particularly how it feels in pocket (rubbing when retrieving my phone).

I’ve been tempted by the Rogue scales, stinks to hear about their shipping though. I’m also looking at Flytanium, AWT, and Votix. Though latter comes from Australia, and I hear can take months. Looks wise AWT and Votix are my top choices, but I’ll probably end up getting Rogue or Flytanium just because the clip looks straight versus angled.

I see what you mean with the RBW clip attachment angle, I like that, too (Not my picture, but a screen shot).

Also, there is a more thumb friendly ramp to get to the open slot on the 154, which can only help with the thumb stud on the S45V.

I am still waiting for RBW to respond to an availability inquiry.
