Benchmade Tek-Lok

Benchmade does not make the TekLok. It is made by a company called Blade Tech out of Oregon.

Blade-Tech's website says their address is in Lakewood, Washington.
Benchmade is in Oregon City, Oregon.

Oregon / Washington what differance does it make. I still won't do business with the crappy company.

crazy nicky
The Tek Lok is a just a lock mechanism that anyone can buy to add to thier products, in BM's case it would be a knife sheath and they sell them seperatly if you broke one or wanted to add it someting else. Spyderco also uses the Tec Lok on some of its sheaths as well as many other knife companys and sheath makers.

It is popular because it is adjustable to snuggly fit almost anything you attach it to, and once it is put on a belt or whatever it locks very well and will not come off by accident. Serves it's purpose well in that manner and is very durable.

Me I think it is a little bulky but for military web belts or duty belts or any where you dont mind the bulk it works great.

Don't know what R.W.Clark is talking about when refering to that crappy company but would like to know myself. I have never really heard anything about them myself. Hope Mr. Clark will add some input on that if there is something we need to know about. Thanks.

Ask just about any custom maker that has had dealing with Blade Tech. They will all give the same opinion. Blade Tech has the worst customer service in the industry. Things such as taking 7 weeks to ship items that they already have in stock, double billing, losing orders, forgeting to bill or even billing and then claiming that they did not.

It just goes on and on. An insider has even told me that their production holsters (find them at places like Turners) are being returned by the dozens for faulty workmanship.

I have been getting invoiced for the same bill for about 6 months now. I have proven to them on 4 occasions that they had already charged my credit card at the time of the order. Now the invoices just get thrown in the trash.

If you want supplies or finished sheath and/or holsters forget Blade Tech. You will be much happier with either Survival Sheath Systems or On-Scene Tactical. Both are outstanding companies.
