Benchmade Turret Plain edge?

When did Benchmade make a PE 980 Turret? Is this legit?

that one is a made in china knockoff, there was a plain edge turret but it had a satin blade and the original greenish brown scale

I've seen the green handled plain one never gray my friend.......Back home safe and sound after the Going to the Sun road fiasco???

I did buy the black Turret. We’ll see what arrives. I can always return it or get a refund.

I was thinking maybe last owner dyed it but sounds like you got it at a store/website... Hope its the real deal...
I've always liked it.. Something about it always has me contemplating adding it to the pile I have😜.
 
Are those handles plastic? they dont look like g10 and the blade finish is kind of shiny; if those scales are plastic its a fake.
 
Definitely looks like a clone. I don't recall any black bladed plain edge version or black handled version. Looks like T8 hardware all around instead of T6 and T10. And the pivot is slotted on both sides. Probably a free spinning pivot then.
