I own a benchmade emerson designed. But i ordered for x-mass
an Emerson mini commander. The question i have is that the
benchmade handle is very ridged with no flex when pinching it
from side to side. I was looking at an Emerson(not
a commander)at my local knife store and noticed the handle seems to flex alittle. Is this normal with Emerson knives? Does it matter?
Do you guy like the emerson or benchmade more?
what are the pros and cons of each?

I love my benchmade but have not yet seen my new emerson in person.

Thanks MNTNAIR

Holding my 2002 Mini Commander now, squeezing it. Very little flex. I would say I can't squeeze the handle more than 1/3mm if that much. With the blade closed, I can't even get the liner to come close to touching the blade.

i have both benchmade knives and emerson commander. the benchmade knives have a LOT smoother action. i expected more from emerson, especially since my knife was a special "hand made" order. i will stick with benchmade from now on, however, the wave feature is cool:)

Just picked up a Commander. It says 2000 on the blade. I see everyone elses is a 98' or 00'. What's up with this?

mercop,

Do not worry, your blade marked 2000 is the same knife as one refered to as a "00" - it is just the use of language.

Enjoy!

Ed;)
