Hi
Im new to this forum, and i hope i wrote this topic i right directory;) I have question, because i want to buy EDC knive, not too expensive, i've chosen Benchmade Vex, but CRKT M-21 has better steel, but its look isn't so nice as VEX. Could you, as experienced users, help me?

me personally i would go for the vex.

if a knife doesn't appeal to you visually, it doesn't matter what steel it has, you'll be looking for your next knife within a week.

Go for the VEX you get more(G-10, nice pocket clip, spyderhole, and above all Benchmade's high quality) for basicly the same amount of money.

Tough choice... I usually ask myself what I'll get first :) I think the M21 is a better choice (flipper, aluminum handle, probably a better blade steel, and bigger) but to each his own. I can't say a bad thing about either so buy what's cheapest

Get the Vex.

CRKT liner locks wear very quickly in my experience. G-10 is better in cold weather than aluminum for bare skin. And grippier.

I like the vex also. As far as AUS8 being better then 8Cr14MoV time will tell. They are comparable or so I read. If that is true then it would come down to the heat treating.

ok, thanks for all comments, i was thinking the same;) Vex would be better, CRKT, is also nice, but i don't want to have bigger knife, it should be heavy duty nice EDC folder;) The price of M21 in Poland is identical as Vex, so i will trust Benchmade. Besides, Vex is one of nicer folders i've ever seen ;) What would you suggest to get it sharpen? I mean which tools?

yeah, it's really impressive knive, cheap, good looking, great materials (G-10 scales), quite good steel simillar to AUS8 (correct me if im wrong ;) ), nice sharpness, so if u want cheap but great made knife, this one is the one ;)

I've compared the two and am very happy I went with a Vex. IMO much better quality in looks and feel. And I don't care where it was made, this is a great knife.

I bought this from the 'Pharmacy' guys and for what I spent, it rocks.

thats true;)im also very happy with this knife. It looks great on photos, but when you have it in your hand, it show his "real face" ;)

I bought an M-21 serrated in both sizes and love it. I EDC the smaller one and keep the larger one in my pack. Great knife... but it's in desperate need of a sharpening. It doesn't cut squat now unless I use the serrated part.

The steels are almost exactly the same composition (look at Benchmade's steel composition chart), at similar hardnesses, so they should perform similarly.
