Benchmade Vex Spear Point Knife 10750BP

I just purchased a Benchmade Vex Spear Point Knife 10750BP. I like every thing about it except I find if heavy compared to other knives I own of comparable size and materials. I would like to take this knife apart and drill lightening holes through it's liners. Can any one advise if I will need any special drill bits? Are the liners hardened? If so please guide me to a source for the drill bits. Other wise I know where to purchase Craftsman or Hardware Store bits.

You'd probably need carbide drill bits to drill through them, I would expect them to be hardened, remember to be patient, try not to heat it up and don't drill too close to the liner lock.
