Big brown truck dropped off a package yesterday. It is the Benchmade VLF I ordered from Knifecenter.com. Considering this knife is made in Korea, I am impressed with how well it is assembled. It all seems up to Benchmade standards.
With a blade length of 5.25 inches, and a handle length of 4.90 inches, it is a rather interesting folder. It has a "tail" that folds in-and-out with the blade, to protect you from the edge when folded. This is the first knife I have purchased in many years that has the blade made from 440C, so I am not sure as of yet about edge retention. It came hair-shaving sharp as usual for a Benchmade product. Since I usually have one of those douvle-sided DMT sharpeners handy, I will not be too concerned if edge retention is not up to my usual standards.
Here is a video link.
