So there isn't much on this knife on youtube and I wanted to know what you guys thought. The only good review is equip to endure and he doesn't like it because of a problem with the thumbstuds pulling on your pockets. Nutnfancy acted like he was going to do a review on it at shot show in 2013 but never did. What do you think of it? Does it compete with their other offerings like the 710 and the 940?

The Volli is a really good knife. Awesome handle, awesome lock, awesome steel, awesome feel in the hand, and super awesome blade shape/grind. Being S30V, it's a better value than many of the 154CM knives that are often priced equally as high, and gives a good bit better performance IMO. It's also not a hugely popular BM model, so you may be able to find discounts on them. It's a great EDC. It can't really compare to the 710 because it is a huge size difference. The Volli is smaller than the 940, but doesn't have quite the form factor.

I really like the grind on the 940, but I like the grind on the Volli even more. It has a lot of similarities to the Ritter Griptilian, which is a great design.

I've never used the volli personally. The idea of an assisted knife with the axis lock just seems weird to me.

It's currently my fav BM. It's a knife, made for cutting, so it won't satisfy the overbuilt crowd... but it's very well suited to the role of a 3" folder. Very well made & finished and a great blade profile. I like it almost as much as the Ritter profile.

The Vol is smaller than a 940?

::::EDIT::::

Just checked: it has a thicker knife handle. I was hoping it was as thin.

Smaller blade, but a wider handle. It's a little better in the ergos department, IMO, but it doesn't have that "Sebenza-like" compact form factor of the 940 (/941/943). It's still a comfortable carry. There's always a place in my heart for the 940 still given how few a knives there are with that size a blade, that much toughness, yet such a compact form factor.

It's definitely my favorite Benchmade ! It has probably the most comfortable handle for a folding knife ever. The blade shape , grind, and steel is just about perfection . I de-assisted mine. I do prefer it this way. It's in my all time favorite 3 production folding knives!

It's a good knife, but it doesn't fit my hand well. The swell in the handle before the blade is too far back for my thumb. However, the blade is very thin and an excellent cutter, the axis assist is very fast, and even though there is spring tension working against you when you close the knife, it is surprisingly easy to close. I'd say you have to hold it in hand. If it feels right, get it!

I went in to by one 3 times and each time I took my S30V Blur and flipped them side by side! Yea I still want one but can't seem to justify paying almost 3 times the price for a very close to the same size etc. knife!!??? Love my Blur and want the BM but ???????? IMO anyway!
