benchmade warranty dept question

About six weeks ago I sent my knife back to benchmade (east coast to west coast) to replace the blade after the tip broke off (my fault). I have sent other knives to their plant for similar reasons before and have never had to wait this long. What gives? Can anyone here please tell me how long the wait currently is?

They usually turn it in about 5 business days. I just sent a knife in as well. Took two weeks not the advertised 5 days. They must be slimming down due to the economy.

They have extreme backlog of orders to sharp with many people out last week. I would call to make sure order is still in house or maybe shipped?

I have not had to send any of my benchmades in, and hopefully I wont ever have to. But I have heard that the turnaround time for their warranty dept can take between 4 to 8 weeks. Dont remember exactly where I heard that, but I think I read it off one of the forums.

I've had two dealings with BM Warranty. Based on my memory, I'd say two weeks is average and, for me, acceptable. Maybe the economy or backlog like others said is slowing things up a bit more.

You can email them too. They'll reply.

Yeah I sent my 42 in for adjustment and got it back six weeks later. They originally told me 5 to 7 days. I called them a few times and they just kept telling me that it would be done soon. I have heard good things about their warranty division, but my experience was rather painful. I'd give them a call, for what good it will do.
