Benchmade Warranty turnaround time?

Hey guys, I have a few BM's that need some fine tuning (blade play issues). I tried to search, but most of the threads are from 2004 and previous. Has anybody recently used the BM Warranty service? How long was it? I think I last heard it was about 6 weeks or longer.

Also, BM says the warranty is to the original owner only. How do they verify this?
 
When I was sending a knife to BM it went like this: I sent it on 21st August, it arrived there on 1st September, they sent it out on 13th of September and I received it on 25th September.
They didn't required any proof of purchase or guarantee card.
As for delivery dates: note I'm from Europe.
 
I sent my knife November 9, from southwest US to northwest US. I haven't heard a thing yet. Maybe next week.
 
It took me about a month to get two knives back. I was the original owner for only one of them, and I couldn't provide verification of this. Benchmade didn't care and took great care of me. You shouldn't worry.
 
Im still waiting on a nitrous stryker (play issues as well ) I sent in on the 9th of october, which arived on the 13th in oregon. But if the knife comes back with a solid lockup I'll be happy.
 
I used their W&R twice in early to mid 2007 for blade centering issues. Both knives were gone 4-5 weeks total, but they came back 100% centered, they're still that way, no charges, and no questions asked.
