Thanks for the pics. When you look at the prices for the knives, it really makes the 42 seem cheap.

I was 13 years old when I discovered balisongs and I was too late to discover benchmade balisongs and they had stopped doing them the catalog pics are cool.

Thanx

Has there been any substantial talk of bringing the True Customs back?

The Ti-Balis I saw in Atlanta were nice, but I hunger for a new line of true Customs.

The Bushmaster pictured was interesting, I just obtained a Bushmaster, NIB, and it is single edged but immaculate. I would have liked to have the double edged one in that picture. Mine was lacking the thumb "ramp" serrations as well...it is a beauty, but I think it was an older Pacific Cutlery model.

I would like to have the one in the picture. Anyone know where I can get one in good to NIB condition?

I e-mailed them a week or so ago and they told me that they have gone away with the custom balisongs, it's too bad because there are lots of people who would buy them (with a 5" scimitar blade

). Maybe if we all send Roberta De Asis an email (one from each of us) than they will consider restarting the custom Bali-Song program, of course they'll need a good bladesmith to grind them (like Jody Samson, though I doubt he'll be returning to BM and balisongs anytime soon).

Well, it might be considered heresy by some PC/BM fans of which I am one, but there is a practical reality involved.

Lynn Thompson of Cold Steel, Inc. could make one hell of an outstanding BaliSong if he wanted to.

PC/BM were the epitome of the BaliSong knife, they were the leaders for years. They will not remain a leader if the ignore the love some have for these knives and only put out what they want to. But BM has sort of been that way in some respects in the past few years. Oh well...a Cold Steel Butterfly Knife sounds really interesting and nowhere should it ever be thought that a Cold Steel Butterfly would in any way be inferior. In fact, might be the best one ever made.

I dream of a nice guy with super balisong shows up in MOD line... Masters of anythings are okay... even a Master Of Dentist.

Don,

I agree. I think Cold Steel COULD make a very good quality Balisong, and right in that $50 to $100 range that no one else seems to be targeting. Who knows, that day might just come. As a matter of fact, I get the feeling there'll be others as well.

Over the last year or so we've witnessed the Balisong making quite a strong and steady "come back". (and it's about time)

Granted, the demand probably won't be as high as for, say a folder with an Axis lock. But I think manufacturers and dealers will see a loyal following in the Balisong community and want to tap into it. We are a fanatical bunch after all.

........ it's just a gut feeling I have.

....... then again, maybe it's just the Chinese food hitting bottom
