Don't know if this is the right place to put this but I was wondering why we don't have a benchmade sub-forum, even though benchmade is a good size brand? Just wondering.

yeah they think they are the kings of knives.

No its just that if they did have one, no one would moderate it or interact on their part.

You both couldn't be further from the truth. The reality is that there are a number of BF members that are also on Benchmade's forum and they don't think they are extra special just because they like Benchmade knives, neither do they blow their own horns about their good taste.

I collect Benchmade knives, as well as Spyderco, Kershaw, Buck and I have just started to gather together some Cold Steel knives. All of these companies make a quality product and each have something different to bring to the table. I am sure that anyone exploring these makers would come to the same conclusion.

You have to pay to have a sub forum here, maybe they don't think it's worth the cost

Whoa there! I would be one of those "BF members that are also on Benchmade's forum" I was referring to Benchmade, they might not know how to use the internet yet, thats all. Nobody is knocking their fans. (At least I'm not)

Ah, thanks for the clarification, HKBM45! I should have looked at your name more carefully. ;)

Since this question relates to forum procedures, it belongs in Service & Support, where I will move it now.

The simple reason we do not have a Benchmade forum here is that Benchmade doesn't want one. We encourage manufacturer forums -- and we don't charge them to have one -- but they do have to provide a company representative to moderate it and respond to members' questions.

Benchmade is one of many manufacturers who prefer to interact with their customers in other places than Bladeforums.

I think that's their loss, and it certainly is our members' loss, but we cannot compel their cooperation. Instead of asking here, why not ask them? :D

The folks on the Benchmades Forum are the best. As far as moderators go. I have not seen any there. Other than product announcements. The good news is that they provide us with a forum and there is ALWAYS someone able to answer a question. It would be nice to have a forum here too like Spyderco. But…. Not to be.

It’s all good baby.

Shouldnt they have those same rules for their own forum? hm...

Why should they have Bladeforums rules on a Benhcmade forum? Everyone gets to run their own house their own way, and we don't do cross-forum arguments.
