Hey there ! I just try to choose my next knife and the competitors are the Benchmade 555 mini Grip and the Benchmade 527 mini Presidio Ultra i like them both a lot the only thing what keeps me away from my choice is the two different steels ! So any recommendations or experiences with both of them ? Thank's.

The 527 is more comfortable for me to use... better ergos in-hand. Blade steel is neither here nor there in actual use. I've had both steels from BM and they're both fine for EDC uses, at least for mine. I really like the Presidio/mini-P platform. It carries and works well for me. I have 525s, a 527, and a small BC on that platform and they're all keepers and users.

Those two steels are sooo close, I would'nt let that be my deciding factor. I'd go with the better feeling grip like Dale suggests. DM

I have an old Griptilian in 440C that I've used for several years and never found the blade steel to limit anything I needed it for. I recently bought a 440C Mini Presidio Ultra and expect it to be equally useful. (I had a Mini Griptilian but gave it away some years back. The handle was a bit too small for me...Mini Presidio fits me better.)

Both excellence stainless steels for knife blades, with very similar performance.

Coming from Benchmade you can trust they will be equally well made.

Pick the knife that calls to you, you can't go wrong with either.
