Hey guys, I'm really excited to order a Presidio within the week, and was wondering how well Benchmades aluminum is? Is the grip secure enough? I freakin LOVE the look of well worn aluminum handles, but wanted to make sure they won't disappoint in the usability department.

Thanks!

I like the feel. It is a personal preference. My only complaint is they will show scratches from stuff in your pocket easier. If you don't mind that you should love them.

I like my 525 a lot. Carried in a small pouch or pocket, the black coated scales only show the slightest wear around the edges from handling and doesn't look bad at all. With that great blade the knife should not disappoint.

Which Presidio? My 520 has THE most grip out of any knife I have. It has shredded the pockets on several pairs of pants/shorts that I own. It'll look a little worn after a while, but mine is still holding up well.

Benchmade's aluminium handles are sweet. The Presidio has been my most carried this summer by far. Best grip of any folding knife I own. My current tanto coated has not been jacking up my pockets the way I remember my old uncoated spear doing [sold it]. Not sure if it's a production or perception change. Anyway, great knife; go for it :thumbup:

I let my brother who is a cop borrow my newly traded 940 for a couple weeks so I guess I'll find out how much he likes it and how well it wears btw I love the 940 it's an awesome knife. Edit he just brought the knife back said it was too nice and didn't want to mess it up Iam kind of glad because I just got the knife and didn't want to mess it up.

The Presidio series of Benchmade knives are my favorite. Period.

Great knife; and the scales wear just fine.

It's kinda chalky and would have decent, usable grip with no texturing. But the texturing on the presidio is crazy. It has great grip. I love mine, one of the first knives I'd reach for in a defensive encounter.
