Benchmade's Deep Carry Clip (ala Contego)

One of the things I love most about Benchmade is their pocketclips. It's great that they have standardized the holes, have multiple colors/types, and will send em out to you for free with just an email! I have to say though, they should change the deep carry clip on the Contego a little. For some reason, that clip sticks out from the scale more than all of the other ones. This makes the knife more uncomfortable to hold (right hand tip up). I would like to see the deep carry clip not stick out so much.

In fact, would someone please tell me why clips in general stick out so much? It seems to me that between the part where the clip touches the scale and where it screws into the knife, the clip should be as close to the scale as possible. This would allow the clip to be as unobtrusive as possible.

Deep carry clips are the only way I like to carry my knives. I carry my blade everywhere I go so I prefer it to be concealed.

If I want to conceal something, I won't have an obvious clip hanging off my pocket. Deep carry clips don't conceal anything.

Well that clip is still my favorite of the BM clips, I just don't understand why it has to stick out (as in away from the scale and into the palm) so much.

I have a Contego clip on my BM530 and I love it. The knife completely disappears into your pocket and the clip feels comfortable on such a thin knife.
