I noticed the Pika yesterday. I've been carrying a Kershaw chive for a general purpose knife. I use it for opening a few boxes, opening coffee packets, on string etc. Nothing really rough. I tried a search but came up with little. It seems to me for ~$30 you can't go wrong.
Could I have your opinion? :thumbdn: ?

I own both sizes and both are a great bargain. I ended up carrying the small for a while and even after some hard use, the lock never developed any play (even vertical!). They are both pretty stout considering that the handles are FRN.

I agree with jazzman, I also own both. The hole in the blade could be improved on IMHO otherwise excellent deal.

I have a Mini-Pika and agree about the hole - it takes a bit of concerted effort to get it open (I own a fair number of Spydies:D ). I haven't seen the Pika around here at all - just the Ambush and even that looked like a pretty solid piece for the money. I have a medium small hand and this one felt just a bit small for me compared to say the Mini-Ambush, BUT I also agree that it's a good bargain. That blade shape is surprisingly handy:)

I have had a Pika for awhile and it's indeed a great knife, not the fastest one-hander out there, but a solid worker!

I had one a for awhile but gave it to a cutlery challenged friend. I have to agree that its a good bargain. After carrying axis BMs for so long it just felt like a pain to open the Pika.

I am a hardcore Spyderco user but this has got to be one of the best folder values around. I got one for around $23 at NG in 440. It is now my edc beater even though I have the new Caly Jr. in ZDP. The main reason I love this little guy is the clip - a low rider with a low profile but you still have a lot of blade in your pocket. The oval hole is not quite as good as the spydiehole but still easy to open. The serrations are anemic compared to the spydie but functional. Overall, a slimjim sticker with great ergos. Handle is grippy and comfy. A great buy for the buck.

I think the price is low enough that it could be called a bargain but to me, it's not worth buying over an FRN Spyderco like the Endura. The Endura costs twice as much? Well it's twice as good and the difference between $20 and $40 isn't that great, in my opinion.

Love the deep conceal clip on them.

I had a full size version but some jerk ex acquaintance has yet to return it.

I needed a low ride clip knife so I just ordered the Pika. I look forward to checking it out.

I have the mini pika and have been carrying it for about 2 weeks. solid knife for everything. The only thing i don't like is the freakin hole:o . It takes a little bit of getting used to to open. All around great knife

I don't care for the look of the beveled opening hole either. I needed a knife that doesn't poke up above my belt and hollar "KNIFE HERE" when I go to a movie or out to eat. Most people seem to really like the Pika.

I've got one too, and it is indeed a nice knife for the money.

The steel's not bad, the lockup is tight, the whole package is sturdy, the lowrider clip is nice, the handle is comfy, the blade shape is useful, and it's very lightweight.

The only reason I haven't carried it much is that I got it at the same time as my 710, which went right into the pocket. Now, I'm cheating on my 710 and my CQC-10 (we have a love triangle) with a SS Delica. Maybe once the spark fades, I'll take the Pika out for a drink. ;)

Peace.

A low ride Endura is what I would like but it is in the future so the Pika will hold me over till then. Sal talks about low riders here-

I'm here.

The first attempt would be to make a clip like the new Endura/Delica "hourglass" clip, but positioned for deep pocket carry. It would fit any of the new Endura 4 / Delica 4 models and let us know the viability of the accessory.

I don't think I'd go with a non skid as a test.

Love triangle :D
I usually EDC 2-3, to try an get around this nasty problem, Be forthright an tell them when they arrive, they are not the only one, will not be the only one, an will be accompanied by 1 to 2 more.(And, if mis-behaving can swapped out for another in a blink)

Once, you had 2 or more, you cant go back normally or innocently to just 1.
