Hi,

Could anyone recommend a Benchmade (or perhaps other well-made yet accessible brand) that has a blade under 2.5"? Just folders, and preferably with something other than a liner lock.

This is going to be my EDC while on Federal Property (ones where blades are allowed but the 2.5" rule is in effect)

The discontinued BM Big Spender fits the bill perfectly. I carry one at a federal facility for the very same reason. Frame lock, and a 2 and 3/8" 154cm blade. My son has a LE version with ti handles and D2 blade. Both very nice.

Good luck!

the HD levitator has a clip but its clipless classic benchmade counterpart is the benchmite, i had one on my keychain for almost a year, its a great little knife

Cheers!

Benchmite levetator lock. The 770 is a axis but the blade is 2.7". Maybe a custom blade grind would take care of .3" of it. :) some one like STR.

There's the Kershaw Mini Mojito with a 2 3/8" blade using their Stud Lock.

There's also the Kershaw Scallion which is a 2 1/4" blade and can be got in a frame lock.

And from Benchmade I think there only one below 2.5" that's not liner is their Benchmite (10610).

From Spyderco you have the Dragonfly, Ladybug 3, and the Cricket. There could be others out there but that should give you a pretty good selection.

Spyderco Dragonfly would work.

So would a Buck Prince.

So would a Case Peanut. (You didn't say it couldn't be a slipjoint.)

Spyderco Kopa. Small and classy, just under 2.5".
