BenchMill

Does anyone have any information on a company by the name of Bench Mill? I just aquired a mill made by them which is covertable between horizontal and vertical setups. I am trying to find out info on available parts, accesories and whatever on these mills. It is a quality built machine just not so easy to find info on it...

Thanks for your help!

Do you mean "Benchmaster" Mill? Those I know of

(Charlie - Just learning knives, but I have a full machine shop)

Benchmaster was the original producer i beleive... now benchmill owns the rights... same machine... I think benchmill made the machine for benchmaster way back when...

Do you have any info that could help? I beleive its the same machine...

Thanks!!

OK, Benchmaster mills are (believe it or not) still made somewhere out in CA, but are expensive. There was a whole series on them back when in Home Shop Machinist Magazine, as one of their writers used it as his main mill (Rudy K)

The basically came in a few flavors - Horizontal, vertical and convertable. They also came with either a screw drive on the X axis ("normal", like most mills) or a rack "production" drive - used to speed certain kinds of work when used as a horizontal mill

They have a good reputation. They usually use an MT2 collet in the vertical head

For more info, I'd give Dave Ficken at Meridan machine in NY (631) 777-1317 a call or an e-mail
