I have a benchmite knockoff i got from bladeplay a year or 2 ago, but they no longer carry it.

I use it as a money clip and carry it everywhere, but the clip is worn out

any idea where i can get a few of the knockoffs? OR, where i can get a clip that will fit?

The Benchmite is made in China, alot of the places that make knives will sell off a portion of them to other people, thus making the knockoff market. And a decent knockoff knife can help me make a better guess to if I will actually like the knife and if it's worth spending the money to get.

I bought a Benchmite from AG Russell. It was about $27. Then I put a clip on it (KnifeKits). I used 1-72 button heads.

The knife clips money, belts, belt loops, key rings just to name a few things that its gotten attached to.

Which clip from their site did you use? I really like my benchmite, but haven't used or carried it in a long long time. Plus I want to get some IWB loops, but ordering them alone would suck since shipping would be about the same price as the loops.

And yeah, buy the real thing.

Benchmade's Harley Davidson line also has a Benchmite. They also got a tanto Benchmite. And HD version comes with a clip, too.

If you're looking for a nice replacement knife to use as a money clip, I'd recommend the Spyderco Cricket or Spin.

No, it is not made in "China." It is made in Taiwan. (a multiparty democracy)

You have no idea what you are talking about regarding knockoffs.

Companies do not sell real, quality knives for pennies creating a knockoff market. Scumbags make low quality rip offs of other people's designs, then unscrupulous and/or ill-informed consumers buy them- that is how the knockoff market works.

Also, there is no such thing as a "decent knockoff knife."

I concur with the first part. First, it would either be a grey market knife or stolen property.

There are things like counterfeit $100 bills that do improve on the original (supernotes). Supposedly the PTR91 was a better rifle than the HK91. But it is true, there is no "knockoff" of quality- otherwise they'd be shutdown. Sometimes there are companies that are inspired by others, which is something completely different.

Not the companys themselves the factory that makes them, they are trying to make money too and the have sold knives out the back door on more then one occasion.

I don't see where that makes it any different. It's still a ripoff of the folks that own the design.

I got the clip at knifekits.com they have an awesome selection. I mounted the clip for tip down carry and on the opposite side of the lock.

I looked up the clip on knifekits.com, its a model 18. No specific reason I chose it other than it was in my parts box and it looked like it would work.
