Carbon fiber & M4 LE, probably a Gold Class, but can't help you with the production dates. Try the BM factory forum with the picture. They have very knowledgable people over there when it comes to BM knives.

It's a 950-901 or possibly a hybrid of the 950-1001 and 950-801.

It is a put-together hybrid of the 2010 950-1001 CF/M4 KW LE 50-pc run and the 2008 950-810 G10/154CM PC LE 200-pc run.

Thank's for info. Still i'm not sure if this will be a keeper as I'm use my knives and this one might only be in a drawer if I keep it:-)

In theory I guess the CF scales could have come from the just-shipped 950-1201, but that seems very unlikely. :)

Since thie pictured knife has the CF scales and M4 blade, is it just clip/hardware from the 950-810 that is used?

The 950-1001 has G10 scales and a CPM-M4 blade.

950-801 has CF scales and a 154CM blade.

So the top quote would be hard to get any more wrong, and just caused a bunch of needless confusion.

I get it now.

What you have is a BM950-1001 blade in a 950-801 handle.
950-1001 has a M4 blade w/G10 scales.
950-801 has a 154CM blade w/CF scales.
and here's the BM Forum knife ;)

Are you sure it can't be a 950-901? Why not?

If there's a way to tell the two apart by just seeing the knives I'd be interested in knowing what it is. As far as I know you can't tell the difference between the two by just seeing the knife.

Actually, this post is right. The -901 was sold internationally. The -801 and -1001 were sold in the US. Without the box I don't believe you can tell the difference. Since the OP is in Sweden, odds would be in favor of a -901 rather than the -801/-1001 hybrid. IIRC, there was discussion about "duplicate" -901 and -801/-1001 hybrid confusion on the Benchmade forum back in 2009/2010.
