Ok, I have a 0301 that has been ridin with me for a long time, and I love it. Unfortunately it has quite a bit of vertical play now.

I've been reading up on it, and a lot of people are saying to bend the lock bar. I was wondering exactly how to do this so I don't damage a 250 dollar knife. Thanks for any help I can get!

Get yourself a Torx T-6 driver and a hex wrench for the pivot. Disasemble the knife MAKING SURE IT IS OPEN FIRST (don't want the blade shooting off into somebody). You'll see the about of bend that the lockbar has, give it about 1/4 of that much extra or so (go easy, you can take it apart again) and then you'll be good to go.

That's great to know. I'll keep that in mind since I am a compulsive knifesturbator. :D

Wow, that worked pretty well, still a little play, but I'll work on it. Now is this something you have to continually do?

If it's really bad, then you can send it back to Oregon and have them fix it up completely for you. Otherwise--just do it a little bit more (if it hits the other side--the liner, then you should send it in for a tuneup). Otherwise, keep bending it :)

Once the titanium takes a set it should stay like that and not need to be bent again. Be careful and go very slow. I've done it on quite a few knives and it works very well but you don't want to put too much bend in it.
