Got to know Chris AKA 'Hesparus' here, after buying a small EDC knife he made, for my fiancee. After corresponding some, Chris realized we both liked reverse grip techniques. He then sent me a pic of a 440C reverse tip fighter, optimized for reverse grip draw. Since my B-day and the holidays were coming up, the little lady got it for me. I love the ergonomics of this knife.

Chris knew I was going to wear it to work to show off, and wanted a few pictures from my work while carrying his knife. When one of our uniformed female officers came into the control center however, and asked why I was taking a picture of my @ss, my creative impulse was stifled. :o So, he'll have to settle for one from work, and the rest from home, as I practice my blade photography. Chris, you have sold me on the advantages of this Config. for tight work

Nice Shape And Nice Curves..... Might Fit Comfortably In Hand.

That it does, especially in the reverse grip draw. Very natural feeling. Chris designs his knives, or at least this one, from a Japanese MA perspective, and it's one of my favorite off the job EDC's. It's a tad to aggressive for on the job carry, but I just had to show it off. :D

Nice looking knife. I have to ask though, was it exposed for the photo or do you leave it in plain view all the time. I 100% believe that an officer needs a blade but I never have one exposed.

Once again, your photographs are very flattering. I have to correct you on one point, though: it's 154cm, not 440c.
One picture of you carrying at work it good enough — any pic of one of my knives on a uniform is good for my ego...

There is a company policy prohibiting anything 'concealed'. They will extend this to folders and pocket knives given half a chance. Uniformed officers are not allowed to carry any visible weapons either, although I look the other way concerning OC Spray, especially for the female officers, as long as they have some training, and it's NJ legal at no more than 3/4 Oz. Since I don't use folders well, due to a deformity of my knife hand, folders are a moot point for me. As I am the only certified protection specialist in the account group, and certified as an EW Instructor, my client hasn't minded thus far. I do try to be discreet however. A test of a new EDC usually includes that no one notices I'm carrying something new until I point it out. Didn't work with the UltraTac. The uniformed security supervisor, who is my partner, took one look at it, and went  lem'me see that!

Chris,

Thanks for the correction. Not sure where I got 440C from. Maybe it stuck in my mind from the EDC you sold me for my fiancee.
I'm going to try to use it in a magazine article I'm planning on writing, so better to get corrected now. You sent the UltraTac with quite an edge too, I watched with amusement as my partner shaved off a good bit of his thumb nail while taking it for a test drive. :D
