Climbing out of my car last night I snagged the pocket clip of my Umnumzaan on something and I could just feel it bend...not a fun feeling. I now have a 3-4mm gap between the clip and the lockbar. I figure it's a pretty easy fix but whats the best way to get it back to normal? Just unscrew it and hand bend it? also should it just be resting on the lockbar or should it have some extra bend to put more pressure on?

Thanks!

when i did this to my tenacious i put a rag in a vice and used light presser...not sure if you wanna do that with a crk...but hey its a hard ues knife right?

Actually the Umnumzaan is anything but a hard use knife.

Lucky, I did the same thing to my Buck/Strider a few months back. I got the clip off ok, but could not get it bent back to the right angle of pressure. First it was too tight & would not let the edge of my pocket go under it, then it was too loose and would not stay fastened. I did the exact same thing with the vise both times. I finally called Buck, told them what happened, they said to send it back & they would take care of it. Turn around time was about 6 days, & when my knife got back, not only had they replaced the clip, it had been resharpened, the blade had either been buffed and/or polished, and it looked like a brand new knife, and all this at no charge. You might want to call on yours and see what they will recommened to do.
Be safe.
p.s.: I also replaced the steering wheel cover, found a tear in it & this was what caught the clip.

I've bent and straightened bent clips while on the knife with a pair of needle nose pliers. No problem.

I usually just unscrew the pocket clip, use a pair of pliers (my leatherman) to grab the flat spot that usually has the hole(s) for the screws and then apply opposing pressure to the other end of the clip. It will make it tight again and just use common sense so you don't over do it or possibly ruin the clip.

If anything CRK will send you one for either free or a small fee by mail.

Good luck, J.

I had the same thing happened to my Zaan... very easy fix. Just unscrew it and hold the piece where the screw goes into with a pair of pliers (with leather to not scratch up the clip) and then just bend it back to where it needs to be. The clip needs to be bent so that when the blade is locked up and the lockbar is engaged.. the clip just barely needs to be touching lock bar, or even have a small micro gap between it and the lockbar.

Holy Crap, how could you be so careless!!!!!????? Shame on you for dameaging your knife! You should give it to me, who will be much more careful! :)

Seriously, I'd remove it and ben it ith pliers also, and put something (fabric, leather, etc) between the pliers and metal. Those grips on your pliers will reek havoc on the metal.

PM me for my address when you ar ready to send your blade to someone who won't so such horrible things to it..... :D
