Well that dreaded day has finally come, I dropped my hollow ground fully serrated G-10 Police while it was open from about 2ft off the ground onto a carpeted floor with linoleum underneath as I went to pick up the knife the first thing I noticed was that the tip had bent about 1mm from the tip, Damn!

What do I do? Worst of all is I put it on my desk to see how hard it would be to bend it back, guess what happened?

Yes that 1mm piece broke off………

Well would it be at all possible to get the blade replaced or do I take it to a knife shop and have the put it top the grind stone and get a point put back on?

Any help you guys and gals can give me would be greatly appreciated.

It is too expensive for Spyderco to try and replace a blade on a SS handled folder.
They will regrind the tip for a fee, or you can take it to someone else for a tip regrind.
Might as well send it in to Spyderco for the work. They make sure it's in good working order and from all reports on these forums do a great job at regrinding a tip.

Gouinothing, I would suggest that you call Mike, at Spyderco Warranty and Repair(800-525-7770), and explain your problem. I believe that they could reground the tip for you for a small fee.

Good Luck

The same exact thing happened to my Endura. I feel your pain.

Only, I think I lost more of the tip.

I reground it myself with a file, and a lot of time. Turned out pretty well, actually.

But, I wouldn't do it again unless a little money was a huge issue.

Send it in, I've heard Spyderco does a great job regrinding tips.
