Beretta Avenger 2

Ummm...don't know. I have a few Beretta knives, but I know nothing about them as far as who makes them, what the quality is. There's an unusual design Beretta puts their name on that's called an Airweight. Much of the steel is cut out of the blade and the thing's as light as a feather. Others that I have seem very well made. AUS8 blades, clearly made for hunting. I wouldn't mind knowing about them, too.

Regarding the Avenger II: "Black Carbon Fiber Handle, Plain 3.12-inch plain edged tanto styled blade of VG-10 stainless steel. Black carbon fiber handle with front full-length liner lock and ambidextrous thumb stud. Includes silver clip." Looks nice, but I'm not a big fan of liner locks, no matter who makes 'em.

The knife does appear to be a beautifully designed and a quality knife. Seems to sell in the two-hundred dollar range.

Thanks, Confederate. It looks like a really nice knife! I know it is discontinued.

I've had one for a while.

It's the sharpest knife I've ever seen right out of the box. Without a doubt.
In fact, it's the only "scary sharp" knife I've ever seen right out of the box.

Chisel grind, VG-10, Liner lock, made in Japan.
Beautifully made knife.

yep, just got one...i'm interested to see how this is put together and the quality.

they also have a good sale on Kershaw Needs Work.

I'd sure like to see some good photos of that design. Can anyone post?

The Beretta knives I've seen are fairly decent and I have quite a few. The Airweight, pictured below, was one I initially turned my nose up at, but recently I took one out of its box and fiddled for it for an hour or so (and photographed it), and I really thought it had some merits. Well, if not merits, it has some definite cosmetic appeal. And though it looks insipidly weak with all that air in the blade, it's actually quite appealing when one takes the time to look at it. I also have one of Beretta's "hunting" folders with a second "saw" blade for cutting through sinews and bone. I like it, too.

The Airweight will almost float away unless one watches it closely.

just got it in...man, sweet knife and top notch fit and finish, nice and light. not much into chisel grinds but this one is done nicely - scary sharp.

Avenger 2 - Excellent purpose built knife. Came very sharp, tops in production knife quality and well worth the money. I own two, one for use and the other to store.
Very underrated.

Don't know. Maybe someone will chime-in.
What's the scoop on this folder? It looks like a Winner, in all aspects. Did it sell well! How does it perform? I would be interested to know. My bet is that the chisel grind is not popular. The CG is my cup-of-tea. :)

I think the Avenger 1 came in a nice metal case, had different spacers, and the
pivot screw was a little different. It was replaced with the 2 quickly so there's
not many of the 1's. It was years ago so that's all I can remember. The chisel grind
lost popularity quickly so this one never caught on. This knife was made mostly to
penetrate almost anything. Maybe politically incorrect.

Then the Avenger 1 is the one I got, it even came with an allen wrench to adjust the pivot, glad I saved the tin box and the cardboard box that came in.

I carried this knife as an EDC SD/Last Ditch back up for about a year and a half after I bought it, the only problems I had were the VG-10 Blade is brittle and lends itself to microchips when sharpening and the single bevel chisel grind is made even more difficult to sharpen because it's laminated to the Carbon Fiber which clogs ordinary stones quickly.

As far as cool factor, owning a Warren Thomas collaborated Carbon Fiber laminated single bevel chisel ground knife able to filet hair is the best.

I still carry it occasionally as a Back Up when I need a lightwieght knife.

Sounds like you have the 1. I would try and not use that one anymore. Should
be a good collectible. The trick with the blade is just to touch up the blade and not let
it get to dull where you have to really sharpen it. You have the idea though, perfect last ditch or PP knife.
