Took delivery this p.m. of this knife. Open build, carbon fiber handles, nested liner lock ala MT, large pivot that I still can't figure out, tanto point with a 0 grind with carbon fiber mated to a VG10 core. Made in Seki, Japan.

If I could post pics I would but just don't have that skill. I remember when this knife which is a Warren Thomas design first came out and I wanted one. Don't know why I never picked one up but after examining this one should have picked one up sooner. Action of the opening is very stiff still but hopefully will loosen with use. Carbon fiber is very nicely beveled on the edges so it doesn't look like any splinters will be rising up. The liner lock engages 50% of the tang and just will not budge when pounding the snot out of it on our wooden cutting board. The liner also is very thick as thick as the actual steel of the blade. The carbon fiber that the blade is mated to, seemlessly I might add is about 1/3rd the thickness of the steel blade. IT is also extremely pointy on the end. Effortless to pierce a large MacIntosh apple and an orange. Paper bag too I had sitting on the table.

This knife has a very cool retro/modern look to it. Very nicely designed and executed. Definetly a very high end to it but not cheaply done at all. I don't know how they mate the carbon fiber to the VG10 but you can't even feel it with your fingernail where one meets the other. On the spine or the side of the flats of the VG10. Did I also mention that this thing is sharp. I mean I can get a knife sharp, longbow sharp. This blade is definetly beyond that. It has what I assume is a 0 grind to the edge. No cantel or edge bevel just a straight drop to well nothing actually. I guess maybe it has a hair line bevel I just noticed holding it an obtuse angle to the light. Almost like the very edge has a polish would be a better word. Hold the knife sideways and looking at the edge you can't see the polished edge but an angle it looks to be there. All in all a cool knife. Very nice ergos, no sharp edges anywhere but where the sharp edge is supposed to be, high end materials very precisely mated together. Looks like a custom to me with very nicely understated graphics on the off side flat of the blade. keepem sharp and I am going to try and score another one or two for such a low price. thanks
