I'm not that knowlegable on Bowie Knives, but have been looking and reading.
I decided to purchase and just recieved the "Beretta Stampede Bowie". It has a slightly curved "downward" handle, scales of figured wood (walnut??) inset with 5 brass pins and a thong hole, solid tang constuction, 7 1/2" hollow ground blade of AUS 6 steel, clip point with a false edge, approx. 3/16 inch thick at spine, oval brass guard, pretty nice leather sheath. For a production Bowie at a pretty good price I'm satisfied. Actually it's quite pretty to my eyes. Anyone care to comment on the steel, or compare to other Bowie knives that are non-custom in the $140 or so, suggested retail price range? Manufactured by "Seki" of Japan with some quite good finish and fitting work. Just looking for others opinions.
