So, is this little sucker any good? I've seen a lot of people that own it, but I fed that was because it IS cheap, and simple. Some of you may remember that this was also the gun used by a Canadian fellow to shoot up a school. Anyone here have one/shot one? Impressions? Pros and cons?

I have one. I haven't shot it a lot; or done any torture testing, but I like it.

Really the only thing I do not like is the stock sights. I'm not that old, but in low light conditions they are near impossible to see through (peep sight).

Since the gun has a rail and is meant for a holosight, this isn't a major drawback. Unless you don't want a holo or scope on it.

Since it takes the same magazines as the 92F, it is real nice if you already have or plan to get one of those.

About as easy to take field strip as the Uzi, which is nice.

I have shot the Beretta Storm Carbines in both 9x19 and .40S&W. They are pretty smooth handling guns and accurate. I only shot the 9x19 model at close range so I can't comment on its accuracy, BUT, the .40- I shot that at 50 yards and it had no problems breaking clays with the factory irons off hand.

I put a red dot scope and a front pistol grip (or whatever it's called) on my 9mm Storm. It's a lot of fun and pretty accurate. I've probably put 1000 rounds of various good and not so good ammo thru it and not the first hickup. I think it is a first rate plinker and home defense rifle.

Peep sights work great in low light I think but I am biased towards them. I have shot a couple of the Storms and we have one member at our club that uses one in competition. His was an early one and he has had quite a few problems, a good reason not to buy a first year production. I found I didn't care for the ergonomics but that is a personal preference, nothing against the rifle. My only other complaint is magazine size but I admit to being spoiled by my 72 round Suomi magazines...lol. If possible rent one and try it before buying paying attention to the ease of use of all the controls for your hands.

IMO the storm is a nice Carbine. I rather like the fact that it can be changed from a right handed to left handed gun. It also fits me well. Being able to use Standard Beretta mags is nice also.

Considering he is in NJ, 15 round mags is a good thing, since he can't have any greater than that.

A friend of mine has one and we fired it off a few times. The weapon is light and extremely accurate. He has it set up with a holo sight and the light attachment.

Does NJ have a 15 round limit or can you use some of the higher capacity mags? There are some decent 20+ available out there and they are converting the Suomi mags to work in just about anything.

just for giggles here is my 9mm carbine...
