I picked one of these up a couple weeks back. It is extremely nice and the fit/finish is great. I was going to disassemble it, as I do all of my knives....at least the ones that bolt together, but when I tried to unscrew the pivot bolt I could not get it to budge. I had the correct tools to use, but could not break it loose. I tried a method that has always worked for me and that is to place the knife in boiling water for 5 to 10 minutes to soften the loctite, and even that didn't let it budge and I ended up letting it boil for 20 minutes!!

Guess my question is; are these knives designed to come apart at the pivot area? Not sure why they would use to male screws on the pivot if the knife was not meant to be taken apart.

Funny thing was, the knife had absolutely no blade play, was dead centered, had plenty of detent to hold the blade closed, and had excellent lockup. I just like to have a tighter pivot and I like to get inside to polish and check out things.

So if you have one have you tried to tighten or untighten the pivot bolts and what was your result?
