I am a big fan of Beretta Semi-auto pistols and was looking at their knives on the web. Can anyone give me any input on their knives. Looks like most of them I am finding are AUS-8 Stainless Steel Blades. I'm mostly looking at their folders. Thanks for any input you can provide...

I have one that was made in Japan almost 15 years ago. It's a great knife with 440C at a good Rc, and Zytel handle. It's a light, tough, beast of a lockback. I believe the company that makes their knives works with lots of other companies, like SOG, and probably Al Mar (and Spyderco?). They don't have a lot of variety, but they do have pretty good quality. I like the look of their Hunter Series of lockbacks.

I have an old FRN airlight, from when they first hit the market. I've always liked the design, I carried it for a couple years, but the steel is junk- it has the worst edge retention of any of my knives, and I have a lot of knives.

I've got some of the early AirLites too. I liked them before I understood about better steel. I really like the design, but the edge retention sucks. Maybe the upgraded AUS8 is better. Dunno.

I just finished getting my Beretta armorer certification a few weeks ago and I was talking with one of the guys from the company and he said their knives are made by Moki. I'd carry mine more often but I think it's over the blade limit here in CO. I have a black tanto Airlite.

Their Avenger model has a VG-10 blade.
(Chisel grind.)
Really, really nice knife with carbon fiber scales.

They also have a couple of other VG-10 models, but most of their knives are AUS6 or AUS8. Very nicely made, always great fit and finish.

(I have about a dozen Beretta knives BTW, if that means anything.)
Thing is, they're Seki Japan knives with great fit and finish. Always.

For some reason, I don't know why, Beretta knives show up very often on ebay and you can snag them at good prices.
I would not buy one at retail; I think there are better values from Spyderco, Benchmade and others.

Blade limit...yikes...I didn't know there was such a thing. I wonder if there is one in Pennsylvania. If so, it wouldn't make much sense considering I can carry around my handguns concealed with my CCW license.

Thanks for the tip on ebay for Beretta knives. I will keep watch. I just got another Beretta catalog and they have a couple knives. One interested me but it didn't have a clip. It is a 2" S30V pocket knife with walnut scales.

What generally are the blade length limits in states that have them? Anybody know if there is a way on this site to look up your state and see if there is such an animal where you live?
