I purchased one of the large versions of this folder about a year ago, but sold it before ever using it. I really liked the feel of this knife and it was heavily built; .156" X 4.25" S30V blade, .070" thick titanium liners, titanium clip, and G-10 handles. It weighs in at 6.4 ounces. For some reason I identified it with a Spyderco product due to the G-10 texture, and the overall feel of the knife. Now that's my opinion only, and yours may be different.

My question is to anyone who has one that they have used and how they liked it. I'm going to order one at the end of the month, along with the K. Tomey neck knife, also by Beretta. Btw, I would also like some comments on the Tomey knife if anyone has it.

IMO , this knife is a real sleeper. I've had mine for over a year and I'm still amazed at the quality. My only complaint is that the flipper is a little too short, but other than that it's a quality knife. I bought my knife directly from Beretta's web site and I believe they were selling them at half off the regular price.

They're pretty big too... almost as big as a Strider AR

Yeah, the Beretta site is where I'm ordering from also. Both knives are half the price of any online store I've priced them. How has the blade and lockup done over the past year? Where does the liner come over on the blade tang? As I remember the one I had, the liner came over so that the left side of the lock bar was flush with the side of the blade, leaving about .080" for any wear that might occur. Oh yeah, any bladeplay developed over the past year?

Here's a shot of the lock-up , this picture is a few months old, but it hasn't changed. I never noticed any blade play, but as the knife broke in the pivot needed to be adjusted. This was a little tricky since the opposite side has a torx head too and needed to be held with another driver. I also put a few drops of Rem-oil on the pivot and let it work in for a few hours before trying to turn the screw.

Another great knife that I think is made by the same company in Italy is the Ontario Retribution series. Very overbuilt wth a thick titanium frame, but no pocket clip.

Great pics! Thanks for the lockup picture. Just checked and they still have these in stock, though the price has gone up $5.00, and the Tomey is also in stock at 1/2 price.

Anyone have the Tomey neck knife to comment upon?

I have the Tomey, although I have not used it yet. I think the fit and finish is very well done, considering it is made in Taiwan. The bead blasted stainless (can't remember which) is nicely done. The edge bevels are even grinds, and the G-10 is a comfy sculpted shape, which fits well in the hand for a 3 finger blade. The sheath on mine is a molded plastic, not Kydex. It is a bit bulky for the blade (square shape). It does lock in very well. The knife did come very sharp out of the box.

I like wharncliffe blades, and I was able to get a good deal on this, so I bought it. Again, I can't comment on edge retention, but I expect it would be fine, considering the material (S30V?). Anyway, no regrets on the purchase, I think it is a fun knife. I just have not had the chance to use it yet. I might sell it.
