I always come across a redish/salmon colored berrie in the coast range here in Oregon. The leaves are pretty large, 8-12 inches across and the plant usually has 4-6 berries on it with only a few being ripe at a time. They are in season right now. I have been eating these for years, and have always heard them called salmon berries, but just looked it up and found that these are not salmon berries.
They look like a raspberry that is much flatter, they are about dime sized. Sorry no pictures.
Since I have been eating these for two decades now, I should probably know what they are. (Perhaps this would be better to know before I eat other berries in the future).... Anyone have any idea what they are?

Yep I was gonna say Thimbleberries but someone beat me to it. I have often thought that if I have to answer the call of nature in the woods I would use Thimbleberry leaves for ass tickets, check out how soft they are !:D:thumbup:
