Did some berry picking this weekend. Not a lot out right now but enough for my lunch.

Good for you buddy. I have seen/eaten likely half a dozen, at least, bannock variations. Almost every Metis or Indian village in the north has their own variation. So I wouldn't get all up tight about ''traditional'' bannock. Bannock up here is still eaten and always was made from whatever you had, and it's the same way still. Some use baking powder, some don't, some use eggs, some don't, some use canned milk, some don't, some toss in a little sugar, some don't, some use raisins, some don't. It's always been that way for hundreds of years here. I've had some gut bomb stay in the gut forever types, and some so light, crispy, and fluffy that it was down right shocking.

Awesome, i didn't realize there were two berry and bannock threads! I will have try this out, it looks delicious.
