since Carl's generous gift of the Bertram stockman, I have found that these things are a little like salted macadamias, in that you can't have just one. This is a large whittler, I had never seen one like it, apparently made during AGR's reign, it was a SFO for the directors of Jack Daniels, and the scales are made out of bourbon barrels
Like the stockman, it has a lovely long flowing form,

everything is polished, including the insides

the blades are very beautifully ground, very thin, with nice drawn swedges, unfortunately the pristine polish has now has a couple of little scratches thanks to me opening and closing the blades. There is also a slight burn at the end of the main blade, I don't know how to get rid of that, or if it affects the temper. I think this will be a shelf queen anyway.

That is very nice too bad you can't find any more of those :(
Thanks for the images

Wow, James, that is a flat out gorgeous pocket knife.:thumbup: You're right, the lines flow very well duo to the excellent design. Yes, the old H&R's are habit forming. Once you get used to the old line fit and finish, it's hard to look at the new knives the same again. It looks like they did an excellent job with the wood. Great grain pattern. Looks far more exotic than plain old oak whiskey barrels.

Carl.
