Besides Buck Knives: who has a great "Collector Club"

The Schrade Collectors sub-forum here at BladeForums is the go-to place for answers and discussions about the Imperial Schrade Corporation. There are also sub-forums for collectors of Camillus and Randall knives. None of these are 'official' company-sponsored clubs.

Bark River has a sponsored collectors club, and their website was an excellent resource for model information. I don't know how active the club is, but the website it years out of date now.

I did check out Spyderco. Look's like their Collector Club is quite exclusive to a max of 200 folks. I really like Spyderco folders. Case is the largest Collector Club (19,000 by some accounts), but does not offer discounts to members on their line that I can tell. Buck's Collector Club is I think about 3,000 members and does offer huge discounts to members on a couple knives per year. That alone makes life membership a deal over just a few years.

They all seem to have a forum of quite dedicated collectors.

I may be wrong, but the Spyderco CC is more a subscription to get every knife as they are released. At one time (may still be) there were two levels. One got you every major new design or pattern, the other got you every variation of every design (handle color, etc).
Each CC knife is numbered, and if you "join", all the knives you receive will have the same CC number. Some Spydie collectors consider the CC# a plus, some a negative.
Far as I know there is no discount in price for members.

If you want to know more, post a message in the Spyderco forum here. Many members there who will know more about the details and current status.

Alann45,

Thanks for the info. You are most likely correct. I think the Spyderco CC is too $$ for me.:D

So far the Buck CC seems to fit me best overall. I was looking for maybe a second one. I do not think I will find one.

Yep, the Spyderco CC can get expensive fast. Pretty much for the die hard Spydie fans, or those who want to keep some and sell the others.

The Buck group seems a nice one, plus they have a forum here and seem a great enthusiastic group of folks.

Aside from Case, I'm not aware of any other ones that seem good. I'll let you know if I run across anything.

You might want to check out the NKCA (National Knife Collectors Assoc).
Primarily for traditionals.
They've had some struggles in recent years but seem to be getting back on track. I know the new President and Treasurer and they are dedicated to getting NKCA back to what it use to be.
They do pretty nice annual knives and provide a newsletter.
And they are really looking for new members.:D
