Besides the #72, what else is there?

Hello guys,

I really like the design of the GEC #72 Lockback Mini-Hunter with the clip point blade.
The knife really looks good and the size is just perfect.
Is there anything else like it with similar design, size and with a clip point ?
I would like it to have some sort of lock and stainless steel is also appreciated :)

Thanks in advance.

GEC 42 Lockback; a slightly larger knife in a similar package.

Buck 112 is gonna be pretty close (lock, clip point, SS) though it's quite a bit heftier.

If you can find any of the Camillus made Remington lockbacks from the 80s and 90s, I believe the patterns are 1306 and 1303 for the larger sizes, about the size of the 42. They also made a pants pocket friendly size, not sure which model number, about the same size as the 72.

i see there aren't many existing models of this pattern, specially of the same size.
thanks for your help so far but if you have more to add feel free to do it.

thanks friends.
i know about the 42 and the Queen Mountain Man but it's not the size of a 72 :)
i wanted one with a 3" blade or something close to it.
i don't edc 3,5" blades because i live in a country where it's not usual to always carry a knife.
i know it's the first tool known to man but people don't seem to think like that.
that's why i prefer smaller ones :)
Knivesshipfree just posted some beautiful Madison Marlows!.
I only wish it was smaller.
If you haven't seen it before reading this simply hurry up :)

Here's a couple of GEC lockers (missing are the #42 and #85 as they came later). The Elk one is a #72. There are #73s with drop point blade and a liner lock tab but they're all 1095 so far. At the bottom is a GEC made Schrade auto in 440C but hard to find and not inexpensive.

sorry for the late reply but the third one looks amazing!
is it also in 1095?
never seen it before and now i wish i haven't :D
it's very beautiful.
i like the fact that it is also a lockback.
along with the Viper that is my favourite pattern hands down.

The 3rd one down in the above photo is the Elk #72 and it is only available in stainless. You can get the #72 in stag which looks pretty darn good

the elk 72 is the one on top, right? the one without the patina.
stainless is even better :)

now, can someone post a pic of a 72 next to a Viper?
I believe i once saw a pic with both side by side and they seem to have the same blade length.
However, in some sites, the 72 comes listed with a 3 1/2 blade!
The Great Eastern Missouri Trader Lockback is the #72 pattern correct?

Mantzao, the Missouri Trader is the #42 pattern, 3/8 to a 1/2 inch longer than the #72.

Boker make a similar sized knife to the #42 and Queen's Mountain Man. I think it's called a Bubinga lockback. Good feedback from people who have them, 440C too.

ups...:D
i've been browsing though GEC's distributors and it's hard to find a 72 with the clip point blade!
are they discontinued or something?

Queen linerlock Copperhead.

Never seen that before.
The handle is a bit different than what i had in mind but looks cool nevertheless.
I wish it had a lanyard whole too.
Thanks :)
