I'm on the lookout for someone that can do a set of custom hardwood handle scales which will need milling out on the inside of one side in order to accommodate a hidden sliding scale trigger mechanism. Can anybody give me an idea of what this SHOULD cost for a handmade bespoke set so that I can establish a baseline and avoid getting absolutely HOSED?? Id appreciate any info!!!

Without seeing the “sliding scale trigger mechanism” and assuming you are ok with hogged out insides and not beautiful finish on inside areas, I would expect to pay $500-750, I would expect it will take at least 2 attempts to get it right, and I expect no one will do this work so you will need to do it yourself which sounds like a great project.
