Best $20 fix for my habit--CRKT Neck PECK

I saw the CRKT Neck P.E.C.K. in the store while I was looking for something to spend money on. I had seen it in a rag (Blade?) and thought it would be a perfect first neck knife.

Wharncliffe is my absolute, hands-down favorite blade shape, so this is the perfect little knife.

The sheath is incredible! Get this--they actually put threaded inserts (heli-coils) in the Kydex where you can attach the clip (2 positions even).

CRKT keeps putting out incredible value; I would have paid twice what I did for this knife without blinking.

Two minor wishes--(not complaints)--I like a satin finish, but at that price point who cares. Also a couple of holes so that a cord wrapping could be secured around the handle.

This is one great knife--and the perfect blade shape to boot!

Yep!
I agree. CRKT has some product that are really big in the Bang-for-the-Buck Dept.
The M-16 series is a great example.
I just wish they would use a better steel than that 6M stuff they're using in most of their knives.

If a man says something in the woods and there are no women there to correct him, is he still wrong?

Dry Heat, can you point me to a picture of the Neck PECK.
Also to the best of my knowledge the sheath on the Neck knives from CRKT are just plastic moldings looking a lot like Kydex but not the real Mccoy, still they are nice and can easily be modified see my post on the modified STIFF KISS.
Keep sharp, Bagheera

These look good to me, looks like a better candidate for a neck carry piece than the standard model. So far I've only seen in pictures, may have to stop by the local purveyor and check out one.
I agree about the steel choice, but with a better grade steel comes a big jump in $$

I've got a Neck PECK, Stiff KISS, and KISS Classic. I got the Neck PECK sharpened right, and it's fine again, taking fine hair and slicing cardboard. It's my daily wear knife at work.

At ABC-Direct, the Neck PECK is the cheapest I've found it, $19.95.

well I thought that it was too small (handle)

but I would like to get a used one, mount a real handel on it and turn it into a carving knife (wood that is) because right now it looks like a skeletal handeled whittler

I like the Neck Peck as well. I would have bought it at the local store but, they only carried the partially serrated version. I bought the Stiff Kiss instead. I like it. I believe the sheath material used for these knives is Zytel, the same material used by Cold Steel on their Voyager lockback handles.

Jedi--

Regular grind, Wharncliffe blade. Sheath is plastic but so what? It functions perfectly.

I have a Bearclaw (plain edge) on the way now, too.

Damn that's good to hear about the edge. I'll definitely have to try one now.

I love neck knives and found that for my dollar the "Woo" neck knife from the Western Knife Company is by far the best one I have ever seen or used on a daily basis. It is a good utility knife and can even be used as a tactical defense knife. At under $20.00, where could you go wrong? I like this knife better that the CRKT Neck PECK (I have one of these as well) because the sheath seems to be a bit more durable, comes with a cord already attached and the knife itself is about 50% thinner than the Neck PECK yet seems better suited to hold an edge. Give this knife a try to compare!

Where can I find one of those?

WCK (Western Knife Company)has a webpage that you can order online. I also have the direct number somewhere on my cluttered desk. I'll find it for you and post it soon.

Got me a Stiff KISS neck knife (MDP plain version). I must say it's really worth the buck for.

The Neck PECK looks pretty cool, too. If you want a rather smaller neck knife then you have to go for this. You can't complain what it gives for it's price.
