  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

I was walking around the sporting goods section of the local Mart. Waiting for some prescriptions to be filled,(I'm a totally Disabled Vet).
I noticed the Buck 110's were on sale, I have read where there's problems with fit finish sometimes and I was a little apprehesive. They were in those plastic packs and I didn't want to start going through every one of them to get thee best so I just grabbed the one on top.
Anyway I got it home and looked it over, fit and finish were excellent and to top it off, I took a piece of copy paper held it by the corner and it sliced it's way from top to bottom using it's own weight. Now I consider that sharp enough, especially with the factory edge. Jeff

Hey Jeff, Welcome to the sickness of Buck knives. Be care you may end up with a few more 110s. They are great knives. You got a heck of a deal also. I am happy to hear you are pleased with your new 110.

Best of luck,
John

I have a bunch of 110's, having bought several sealed 'collector's tin' W-W 110's, sealed package 110's, and mail order 110's - never got a 'bad' one! I think that a 'bad' one may 'escape' once in a blue moon from their plant, but I have no proof of it. All of mine have been 'top drawer', for sure... great examples of American-made quality. Okay, the Titanium '110', probably a 560XLT, is a bit tight opening and closing, but I know how tough Ti is to work, and I don't use it anyway... (I shouldn't mention it - they dropped it for a reason, methinks!).

some folks have issue with "matching scales" which is an artistic interpertation ... and consiter it a falt...
but all the ones i get from buck or from the store are top knifes
on the Ti, i think buck discontuned it as .... it did not sell very well
and as a buck watcher for many years now i can tell you that it was in
only a span of 6 mos they went from were you could buy one in the company store for only 29$ to filtering ebay to find one for less then 60$ !!!!
seems that soon as the store ran out that the spectlateters but up all and then leaked them back...
last black 560 i found was at a hunt store that was closeing and it still had mark down stickers to 45$ on it and i got it for 40 with correct sheath but no box... so they are out there ..
ya jest got hunt REAL hard for trophy bucks!!:D

I see that Gander Mountain is offering a $10 mail in rebate on their 110's. The final price after rebate would be $24 and change and I believe these come with the leather sheath.

Good deal, AR Fan. I turned 60 the other day, but I got my Buck 110 for my 18th birthday. Two of my old aunts asked me what I wanted for my birthday then, so I told them and they both chipped in and got me the Buck 110. It went back to Buck once about 25 years ago for an overhaul, but it's an old favorite.

Hey Dr. Mudd, happy birthday to you! Could you post a picture of that 1965 era 110? Any good stories about it?

By the way, were you ever a prisoner on Shark Island?
