Hi guys
What is the best 6 inch blade that is not thicker than esee 6? but with a better steel?
The bravo 1.5 is too thick and so is the falkniven A1.

Any ideas? `

Check out Knives of Alaska Bush Camp Knife, 6" blade, .14" thick and made of D-2 steel.

One can still find the DPX Heft 6 non serrated in Sleipner Steel @ $160............

Koster M.U.C.K. Stands for My Ulitmate Camp Knife. Made from CPM 3V its measures .21 at the spine but has a mainly full height flat grid that is thinner and slices well for a nondedicated slicer. For me it's the most well thoughtout knife I have owned.

You said that the Bravo 1.5 is "too thick." What do you plan to use it for?

Imo, .217" thick doesn't seem out of the ordinary for a blade of that length, design and intended usage.

This one is on my short list....

If you can wait just a bit I'd contact Bruce Culberson here on the forums and have him make you something that you want out of 52100. Dude does great work at great prices.

Exactly. To be precise, SR101 is 52100 with a Jerry Busse heat treat. And as far as I'm concerned, it's one of the great knife alloys on Planet Earth.

The Swamp Rat RatManDu (RMD) is my SHTF utility knife.

When the going gets tough, the tough choose Busse. ;) :)

I'd have to ask what you're looking for in the way of "better"?

Do you mean stainless/rust resistant?

Better edge holding?

Tougher?

Was gonna say Fallkniven A1.

6" and thin? May be hard to find.

Reduce the blade length and I'd say Phil Wilson Southfork, Scrapyard Scrap Max, maybe a Dozier Pro?
