Best 6cm EDC?

Apparently, it is illegal to carry a fixed or locking knife in Japan if the blade exceeds 6cm. I've got a couple ideas for a light-duty EDC, namely a 2.25" Razel by the Graham Brothers, or perhaps a Straight from hideawayknife.com. Does anyone have any other bright ideas?

Are you looking for a folder or a fixed blade?

For folders take a look at some of spyderco's offerings like the meercat or dodo. If you are looking for fixed blades the razel looks good or you could get something custom done maybe from Gene Ingram or Peter Atwood.

good luck!

I was thinking about a fixed blade. I'm leaning away from folders because I've got large hands, and most small-bladed folders that I've seen also have correspondingly small handles.

The Hideaways are sweet.
The blade is proving to be more useful than I thought it would because it can be held several ways. Not just in the tactical fingers through the capsule mode.

If you were looking for pure slicing, i would suggest the A. G. Russell™ Woodswalker, a 2 5/16" (59mm) AUS8A blade with a generous 3.75" handle. Given you requirements, this is probably the best bang for your buck at $20. Another possibility from A. G. Russell™ is a Splinter picker, slightly shorter blade, much higher quality materials, slightly shorter handle and much higher price :D.

If you have plenty of lead time, you could check into a custom fixed blade from a custom maker ($90-$150-$$$$ depending on the maker) with the blade profile and thickness you require. If you find one in your area, you could even get him to fit the handle to your hand.

If you're willing to consider folders with large handles, the Spyderco Dodo has a 53mm with a very full size handle. For something a little more elegant, you could check out a Spyderco Kopa or Kiwi. BTW, the Fallkniven U2 lists a blade length of 64mm, so you may need to trim some off the end.
