Best angle to retouch factory edge?

I need to retouch the factory edge on my large seb 21. What angle should I set my wicked edge to? It looks close to 18.5, but I wanted to check to see if anybody knows what it actually is.

Thanks,
Sean

I have sharpened several of my CRK knives, and they vary between 18-20. I usually sharpen them at 18 on my wicked edge, that has worked well for me.

Thanks Ernie! That's what I was looking for. I'll be at it tonight;)

Have fun! I would recommend measuring the angle with an angle cube, or at least the phone app. Looking at my sheet having the angle numbers match on the WE doesn't equal actual angles as measured.

He edges are done by hand, I believe. On my Sebbies, I've noticed the edges are convex and that the angle isn't consistent pivot to tip.

I usually mark the edge with a sharpie, then find the best compromise. Be sure to check both sides! Being done by hand, they're not exact.

Once you've reground it on your WE once, you're all good. I use an Edge Pro, but same idea. Have fun!

My Insingo was really close to 20 degrees so I used my Sharpmaker for a quick touch up with just the ultra fine rods. In about 5 minutes its was hair shaving and phone book paper cutting sharp. I am however thinking about a little more aggressive edge from my WE next time.

I didn't get a chance to work on it last night. I'm going to try this morning. I use an angle cube to make sure both sides are equal.

Where do you grab the blade w the WE?

Thanks for the input guys. I'm found to try 18*, if not, then maybe 17.5*. I'll post up results;)

I sharpen mine with my Spyderco Sharpmaker on the 40 degree setting. CRKs are ground well and the Sharpmaker works just fine.
